The chieftain [collection] : an original comic opera in two acts / written by F.C. Burnand ; composed by Arthur Sullivan. 1895.

Arranged in four groups: I. Vocal scores (18). II. Piano scores (1). III. Orchestra parts (18). IV. Promptbooks (3). Both the vocal scores (which include one copy annotated as a stage manager's guide) and the piano score were published by Boosey (London, c1895). The orchestra parts, in leather folders, are manuscript. Two of the promptbooks are based on the libretto published by Boosey (1894). The other is typescript and contains the program and cast from the Abbey's Theatre, N.Y. production, Sept. 9th, 1895.
